Sanctuary Art Project

FUMC Music and Arts Ministry announces the 2022

Sanctuary Art Project

The Music and Arts Ministry is inaugurating a new Sanctuary Art Project.  Similar to the “Stations of Cross” artwork created by members of our congregation, we are seeking inspired works of art for the walls of our church sanctuary.

The medium (water color, mosaic, acrylic, pen and ink, etc.) is the artist’s choice.  Themes would include such things as scripture or hymn inspiration and elements of worship.  These are intended primarily for year-round use.

We have a number of blank art boards (for oil and acrylic) available (like those used for the “Stations” artwork), or you may choose to use your own.  We ask that the size be a minimum size of 24″ x 24″.

This is a spring project, with the goal of having most (if not all) work prepared by the beginning of May.  (If more time is needed by individuals, please let us know.)  All artwork would become the property of the First United Methodist Church of Jasper, Texas.
