While BoxCast broadcasts are compatible with all major browsers, it is recommended that you use the latest version of Google Chrome or Firefox. Be sure to enable cookies and turn OFF your pop up blocker.
If the video is starting and stopping as you watch, it is possible that you are experiencing network issues. Check your network speed at www.speedtest.net.
If you’re on this page, it’s very likely that you do not need to view on Facebook Live. But if needed, we are found at facebook.com/fumcjasper/.
Although BoxCast does not have a mobile app for iOS or Android and has stated that they will not be creating one, you can create your own “app” on your mobile device. In reality, it’s not an app but a home screen icon that looks like an app. Here are the steps for the iPhone and iPad:
Step 1. Go to our church’s website on your mobile app (fumcjasper.org). Click on “Join us online each Sunday!” That link will take you to…
Step 2. This is the page that has the service viewer on it. It’s also the page that you happen to be on right now as you read this! (If you scroll/move down the screen, you will see the video image.) At the bottom of the screen, you will see the icon that is circled (with arr0w). It’s a square with an arrow pointing from the top. Tap it and it will bring up the next screen…
Step 3. Swipe left along the bottom row until you see “Add to Home Screen.” Tap that to see…
Step 4. Tap “Add” in the upper right corner. It will add a link to your home screen, as seen in the picture below. That icon is a direct link this the page you are viewing right now, the page with the online view embedded in it. You’ve done it! There’s your “mobile app” for iOS!
AppleTV™, Amazon Fire TV™, Roku™
If you own an AppleTV™ (4th Gen), Amazon Fire TV™, or Roku™ streaming device you can download the free BoxCast app and search for the event within the app.
BoxCast cannot guarantee that a stream will work on any given Smart TV. Many are simply incapable of playing video from any but a few specified websites. It is always a better idea to connect your computer via HDMI to your computer to view the game OR you can connect via Chromecast or Apple Airplay. The quality of the video in this instance will be dependent on your device and wifi connection.
